World Championship leader Romain Febvre performed well, but a minor incident cost him points. Jonass lacked some stamina. Valin crashed, Karsemakers finished in the top ten, and Garcia narrowly missed out on the overall victory.
Romain Febvre: I was happy when I got another good start in the second moto and finished third, just like in the first moto. I was looking for new lines for a quick overtaking maneuver. I went into a corner a bit too fast with the front wheel and crashed. After that, I lost my rhythm. It's not so easy to overtake in the sand anymore. In the past, you could finish in the top three or top five based on technique and fitness. These days, there are many riders who are good in the sand. Everyone from third place onwards rode the same pace in the second moto. It certainly wasn't my best moto ever, but that's the way it is.
Paul's Jonass: It was tough today. The track was more challenging and technical than yesterday. It was hard to get into a rhythm. I reacted well to the gate and made two good starts. I felt I had the pace to hang with the guys at the front. I didn't get tired, but I couldn't find the flow to keep it up for the whole moto. Overall, the speed is there. I just need to be able to maintain it for a full race.
Mathis Valin: I was stuck behind a few guys at the start of race one and during the first few laps. Still, I was able to show my speed in the final fifteen minutes and take sixth place. I had a very good start in race two. The track was even more challenging today, but I was sitting comfortably in sixth place again until I made a mistake and crashed heavily. I hit my head in the crash, but I was at least able to finish the race.
Kay Karssemakers: Since returning to the GPs last month, I've been working hard with Steve and my personal trainer. I want to get back into the top ten before the end of the season. I achieved that today in the second moto. We have a long-term plan and are taking it step by step.
Francisco Garcia: It was a completely different track this morning. I prefer a bumpy track, but it was much smoother after they had been leveled and watered overnight. I crashed once when I made a mistake and lost the front. I managed to get back a bit, but my rhythm wasn't as good as yesterday. That's why I had to settle for second place overall.
