HThe adventure that Spanish world champion Jorge Prado embarked on in January to continue his career across the pond hasn't been a walk in the park so far. Prado battled with the bike all season and, now that the final AMA National has been completed, left a rather uninspiring post on Instagram.
Jorge Prado: "It was a very tough season, to say the least. It was heartbreaking to be on cruise control at every race, especially knowing what I was capable of. I never felt comfortable on the bike, not even a little bit! That made me feel unsafe. I didn't expect this year to go this way at all."
"I'm glad I'm still in one piece and fit. Hopefully, we'll be back where we belong soon. Note: By "cruising," I meant I couldn't ride at my full potential, even though I was giving 100% and had to force myself to ride at a safe speed."

Prado's words were harsh and almost blunt. It was a direct dig at the Kawasaki Team, with which he had competed in AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross since January 2025. Prado admitted he never felt comfortable on the bike. He finished 6th in the final Nationals standings last weekend, but that was far below expectations.
To top it all off, the Team Kawasaki engine specialist responded to Prado's Instagram post and he was very harsh.
Yesterday's quote: ““I call bullsh*t. I have never in my 35 years seen anyone give up like you! You are not a champion in my eyes! Thank you for nothing. And everyone on this team worked endlessly to help you and we did not give up like you. Sorry not sorry.”

With the harsh words Jorge Prado made public in his post, it seems he should have a clear shot, or even a guarantee, at a new, solid seat with another manufacturer. In other words: the split with Kawasaki now seems inevitable. The rumor mill surrounding the speedy Spaniard is therefore working overtime these days. Participation in the SMX series is highly uncertain, and it's also anyone's guess whether Jorge Prado will compete for Team Espana in the MXoN in the US, and if so, which bike he'll be on the starting grid.
