DThe decisive second MXGP round in Arnhem turned into a thriller. Once again, Lucas Coenen had to come from deep. The MXGP rookie put pressure on sand king Herlings, but he just held off the Belgian. A fantastic 2th GP victory for "the Bullit," who also won his 110th (!) Grand Prix in front of his home crowd!

In the second manche it was again Glenn Coldenhoff who took the holeshot with his second holeshot of the weekend. Jeffrey herlings However, he quickly took the lead and was already in the lead from turn three.

Romain Febvre Also got off to a good start in third place, while Coenen had another poor start. After the first lap, "LC3" was only 96th. With Gajser, Bonacorsi, and Bogers in the top six, the home team Fantic Factory Racing MXGP was once again well represented.

On the second lap, however, Febvre made a mistake. Coenen was a few places behind him, and that was the signal to really unleash his demons! Lucas went into overdrive and stormed past former MX2 world champion Pauls Jonass with apparent ease. A lap later, Febvre was out of luck.

The Red Bull KTM steamroller named Lucas Coenen (pictured below) continued unabated. Just before the halfway point, the Brussels rider spotted Bonacorsi. He then proceeded to gobble up Coldenhoff and Gajser.

From P2, Lucas was able to focus all his energy on Herlings, but in heavy traffic, it was especially difficult to get on Jeffrey's wheel. Ultimately, Coenen crossed the finish line less than two seconds behind the winner.

Arnhem was a great performance for Herlings. Despite his relatively lack of racing experience, he wasn't the fastest in the race, but he was the most successful of the weekend. The 30-year-old from Brabant won the qualifying race and both heats.

After finishing 2th twice in the past two years, Coldenhoff (4-4) finally secured his podium finish in a Dutch GP. Teammates Andrea Bonacorsi (4th) and Brian Bogers (5th) can also look back on a successful Grand Prix. Race 6 was a great boost for the proven Jago Geerts. After a good start, the Yamaha factory rider held his own and finished less than two seconds behind Bogers.

The difference in the World Championship standings between Febvre and Coenen is now 31 points. Coldenhoff consolidated his 3rd place in the championship, while Herlings is doing an excellent job in the World Championship, jumping from 8th to 6th place.

With three rounds left in the World Championship, and 3 points at stake, the nerves are high. Can Febvre clinch his second premier-class title, or will Coenen pull off the surprise of the year by beating the established MXGP riders at the age of 180? More to come in two weeks in Turkey!
