DThe MCLB-VJMO caravan descended on the West Flemish polder town of Zuienkerke this weekend, where the organizing club De Bangermannen had set up a new circuit. For the Inters, this Zuienkerke first also marked their 10th championship point clash.

Fourteen Inters lined up behind the gate for the first moto, including several familiar faces and guest riders like Mike Gilot, Gordano Natale, and Dennis Van Hul. However, it was former GP rider Jens Getteman who took the holeshot and led the pack. Championship leader Greg Demeulemeester, Mike Gilot, MX2 revelation Avo Tack, and Gordano Natale followed in the East Flemish rider's wake. The latter was overtaken by Emilio Vannieuwenhuyse in sixth place a few laps later. The occasional West Flemish rider wouldn't be able to capitalize on his top-5 position, as he retired after nine laps. Veteran David Segers did manage to finish fifth.e place. At the front, however, nothing changed, allowing Getteman to win the heat with a good 11" lead over Demeulemeester.

Fortunately, the second moto offered more variety. This time, Demeulemeester secured the holeshot, ahead of Gilot, Getteman, Segers, and Tack. On the second lap, the unassailable Getteman had already dealt with Gilot and Demeulemeester, taking the lead. A few laps later, Gilot passed Demeulemeester. Just past the halfway point, Tack then overtook Segers. In the closing stages, the Barta Racing rider would also overtake Demeulemeester. Championship leader Demeulemeester was barely able to hold off another MX2 star, Ryan Dult, to finish fourth. However, the heat win and overall victory in the Inters 500 went to Jens Getteman. While Tack was the obvious overall winner in the quarter-liter class.

The MCLB championship is now in its final stages. With two championship rounds remaining – Zegelsem on September 7 and Pamel on September 21 – Greg Demeulemeester seems to have the best chance of winning the Inters 500. In the Inters 250, Avo Tack is in pole position to succeed himself as champion.
