DThis weekend was all about sidecarcross. If we counted correctly, 108 teams showed up on Saturday and Sunday.
Gilles Thank you was the best starter, but knew early Mattis Meerschout to wrest the lead from him. Greg Demeulemeester seemed to be on his way to third place, but the advancing David Segers first overtook Damon Tanghe and Jaimy Deleersnyder before also finishing off Demeulemeester.
Segers himself lit up the final heat after a mediocre start in eighth place. His comeback ended in second place on lap ten. He still managed to finish five seconds short of threatening winner Meersschout. Tack remained in third place, dominating Deleersnyder and Ryan Dult.
Logical MX1 victory for Meersschout ahead of Segers and Gilles Tack.
Avo Thank you was the fastest in the MX2 ahead of Dult and Arne Beeusaert.
Oostrozebeke was all about the Sidecars. Many World Championship teams came to prepare for the next GP in Latvia.
Team Lielbardis won the first race ahead of Veldman-Lebreton and Vanluchene-Musset. Vanluchene was the frontrunner, and revelations Tim and Sem Lenferink dropped out in third place. Veldman's rise was impressive. They rode from near-last place to second.
Lielbardis didn't start in the final heat. Veldman-Lebreton took the start-finish win. Vanluchene ran in second place until halfway through the race, when Sanders-Vincent overtook them. Derksen-Ross also caught up. Remarkably, six of the fourteen teams that started retired.
In the MCLB sidecars the victory went to Van Malderen-Wittebro ahead of Delmotte-Valcke and Van Grembergen-Hoste.
