NAfter Jett Lawrence's contract extension with Honda, it's now Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's turn to unveil a major multi-year deal. The American top team has announced a contract extension for Haiden Deegan. The much-discussed rider will compete (partly) in the 450 class next year.
The reigning champion in both 250SMX and the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship will make his 2026 class debut in 450 on the Yamaha YZ450F. Deegan has won two SMX titles, including the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship and the 250SX West title. Interestingly, before moving up to the 2025 class, he will fight for the 450SX crown one last time in 2026. This will likely be in the West Championship so he can show off his number 250 number plate.
He then moved on to the 450cc class for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs. Brian Deegan's son currently leads the 250MX championship by 45 points over Jo Shimoda. Haiden has achieved five overall victories so far.
