HThe troubled KTM resumed production at its Mattighofen and Munderfing sites on Monday. This is exactly three months after the production shutdown that began on April 3th.  

After an intensive period of planning and preparation, approximately 1.000 production employees returned. "Thanks to this restart, the company can once again meet the high international demand for motorcycles from the brands KTM, Husqvarna en "GASGAS," the group announced in a press release.

It is striking that this mainly concerns off-road models, the foundation on which the Austrian brand built its success. In addition to the new MX and enduro motorcycles, production of the completely redesigned LC4-platform started. Well-known models such as the KTM 690 ENDURO R, KTM 690 SMC R, Husqvarna 701 Enduro en 701 Supermoto are based on this platform. Both the Mattighofen and Munderfing factories serve the global market.


From now on, all production lines will operate on day shifts, five days a week, with full-time staff. The current employment contract expires as planned at the end of this month. A key factor in being able to restart was reaching agreements with suppliers regarding existing debts and payment for new deliveries.
