In the first heat Leferink took the holeshot and rode away from the pursuers at a solid pace. Keuben seemed to be catching up to Leferink from second place in the middle of the race but suddenly the stuff went quiet and Keuben had to give up the fight. Now Mulders was in second place who had an insistent Wijers and Hermans on his neck. Wijers found a gap after searching for a lap and was able to take second place at the finish. Hermans was also able to pass Mulders in the last lap and became third with Mulders/Van Deutekom in fourth.

In the second heat Leferink was again the first to go and we saw a fall for Weijers at the start. Fortunately no wheelchair taxi or other helpers had to be deployed and Wijers was the last to start the chase and still came in a respectable fifth. With second place from the first heat this was just enough to become third in total. At the front Leferink had a lot of pressure from Hermans at the end of the race. However, the Leferink brothers kept their cool and also won the second heat and thus the ONK in Berghem. Hermans came in second and also went onto the day podium as second. Keuben/Rietman crossed the finish line just behind Hermans and Leferink in third place. Van de Lagemaat/De Veene came in a respectable fourth in the second heat.
