HThe sting was clearly in the tail in the decisive EMX250 race. Ivano van Erp, who seemed on his way to victory, was caught cold by Francisco Garcia two laps from time, and he lost his second place in the very last corners to Noel Zanocz.
Noel Zanocz thus reduced the gap in the EMX250 standings to Janis Reisulis. The Latvian, who yesterday extended his lead in the standings thanks to a 2nd place, crashed today and only finished ninth. In extremis, Reisuls was helped a little by a late fall of Billy Askew, who, besides Charly Heyman, had a good British contribution to the race.
Heyman kept Zanocz talking for a lap after he got past Jake Cannon. Zanocz looked for a duel with Garcia, but he still had extra power left and rode away from the Hungarian. At the end he moved into Van Erp's slipstream and when driving up the start in the penultimate lap he took the lead.
Garcia wins the race ahead of Van Erp and Cannon who finished fourth in the final series. In the EC standings Reisulis himself runs 1 point ahead of Zanocz after Matterley. Don't lose Garcia out of the game, he is approaching to within 22 points of Zanocz and is in top form. Bradley Mesters and Harry Seel finished 16th and 22nd respectively.
