Noem it my guilty pleasure. Every now and then I pick up a new name of young riders. To see how they evolve. A while ago I followed a young rider. And he managed to score World Championship points in the meantime. I also know that not every career has a chance of success. But if you don't shoot, you'll never hit the target!
From now on we will be riding on Vince Van Hoof's duo seat. Another guy who doesn't want to collect cups on the cross around the church tower, but who resolutely chooses competitions at a higher level. The Balenaar went through the youth series in the Netherlands, and has now already put an Enduropal on it. With the support of the Swiss RGS Racing team, Vince was added to the starting list for the 2deADAC MX Junior CUP 125cc in Mölln.
The 15-year-old sand rider from Balen had a hard time finding his rhythm during free practice on the fast, sandy circuit. It was treacherous, due to the dry, hard surface. During the timed practice on Saturday everything went a lot better and Vince set a nice 27th time down. More than enough to qualify for the competitions themselves.
At the start of the first series – on Saturday afternoon – Vince drove into the starting gate, which made him the last to enter the field. After a great comeback Vince fought his way back to 23rd place at the finish.
On Sunday, Van Hoof continued the positive trend of Saturday with two excellent results. He finished 23rd and 26th in the remaining two series. Good for a 28th place in the final standings.
Vince gained a lot of experience in Mölln in a strong international field of participants with drivers from 12 different countries. He will take the work points with him to the training sessions of the following weeks. At the last minute Vince let us know that his participation for the next ADAC competition has been approved.
Vince: "It was a fun and educational weekend. The speed was very high and the driving was aggressive. I was able to deliver some nice battles and I'm looking forward to the next race in Dreetz".
In preparation, he will participate in the NK competition in Emmen and the Zwarte Cross selection competition in Valkenswaard in the coming weeks. Vince would like to thank his personal sponsors and the RGS Racing Team for their support and guidance this weekend.
