VFor the sixth race counting towards the VLM championship we went to AMC Genk, where the Horenbergdam was being perfectly prepared in collaboration with the TITS MX Team.

In the opening series, Cedric Grobben led his GASGAS into the first corners. Kevin Schellens followed in his wake with his BETEMO KTM in second place, ahead of Glenn Bielen, Brent Aerden and Arno Van Mieghem.

Bielen immediately launched an attack on teammate Schellens, with Aerden close on his wheel. Schellens managed to maintain fourth position for some time as leader in the 250cc class. Van Mieghem initially had trouble getting past Schellens, who eventually ended up in fifth place. Dieter Vromans and Yirre Saenen were hot on his heels, however.

At the front, Grobben put on a real one-man show and rode into the final phase with a lead of ten seconds. Behind him, a tough duel developed: Brent Aerden kept attacking and only managed to outwit Glenn Bielen in the very last meters and grab second place. Bielen came third, ahead of Van Mieghem.

Despite his heavy fall last week, Nolan Corden still managed to pick up valuable points – proving that motocross is not a sport for the faint-hearted.

In the 250cc class, Kevin Schellens took the series victory, ahead of a sublimely riding Yirre Saenen, who in the final phase rejected Jordi Vromans. In the B class, it was Domien Vermeiren who cleverly took the series victory, ahead of championship leader Jamie Haanen and Chiel Van Haeren.

Brent Aerden puts pressure, Grobben remains flawless!

The second series again promised spectacle, especially with Brent Aerden who had already put up fierce resistance to Grobben in the first manche.

Once again it was Cedric Grobben who steered his GASGAS into the corner first, followed by brothers Enzo and Brent Aerden, and Glenn Bielen. Bielen quickly caught up with Enzo Aerden and moved up to third place. Bad luck for Van Mieghem, who crashed in fifth position.

In the 250cc class, Kevin Schellens first had to deal with a strong start from Jens Bogaerts, while the BETEMO tandem Yirre Saenen and Boyd Van Endert rode an excellent race.

At the front, Grobben rode faultlessly again. A combative Brent Aerden bit into the rear wheel, but eventually had to settle for second place, less than 4 seconds behind. Glenn Bielen held on to third place, ahead of a strong Enzo Aerden.

In the 250cc it was Schellens who showed himself strongly again. After a tough duel with Jens Bogaerts he also managed to win this series and thus achieve two series victories. Yirre Saenen became a great third, after an exciting battle with Van Endert.

Also worth mentioning is the performance of Nolan Cordens, who despite persistent injuries and pain still managed to reach the finish and thus scored important points for the Belgian championship.

In the B-class Domien Vermeiren had to go to the limit to keep Chiel Van Haeren at bay. Jamie Haanen completed the podium.

The winners of the day were: Cedric Grobben, Kevin Schellens and Domien Vermeiren.

Next week: Both JMS and VLM are settling in Lommel!
