ALast Sunday the ladies rode in Eersel for the fifth time in the battle for the championship. The battle for the day's victory was between Britt van der Werff and Jenitty van der Beek. The first manche was won by van der Beek, and the second manche was a prey for van der Werff. Because of this it was van der Werff who took the day's victory based on the second manche ahead of van der Beek.
Maureen Zweers took third place twice in the heats and also became third in the daily ranking. Fourth place went to Cynthia Swets with two fourth place heats. In the battle for fifth place, three ladies finished with 86 points. Based on the second heat, it was Maylinn-Rose Sterk who completed the top five, ahead of Annika Erpeka and Noor Platte.
Next Sunday, the first of three IMBA competitions for the ladies is scheduled in Berghem, Brabant.
First heat
Van der Beek takes the holeshot ahead of van der Werff, Platte, Swets and Tara Daneel. At the first pass, van der Beek and van der Werff already have a ten-second lead. Behind them, Swets has passed Platte. In round two, Zweers reports into the top five. From the midfield, she passes Daneel and connects with Swets and Platte. Halfway through the heat, she also passes these ladies and takes third place. At the front, van der Werff stays in van der Beek's wake, but to no avail. Van der Beek holds on and wins the heat ahead of van der Werff. Zweers rides away from Swets and finishes third. Swets comes fourth and Platte crowns a strong heat with fifth place.
Second heat
Van der Werff is now the best, ahead of van der Beek, Sterk and Platte. At the first pass, van der Werff and van der Beek quickly gain a lead again. Sterk holds on to third place. Platte falls back behind Swets, Zweers and Millie Welters. Nothing changes in the top five until just past halfway through the heat. Van der Werff keeps up the pace and van der Beek has to let go. Van der Werff wins the heat. Van der Beek follows nineteen seconds behind. Swets and Zweers pass Sterk, and it is Zweers who also manages to pass Swets to finish third. Swets follows shortly behind, and Sterk crosses the line 27 seconds later.
