ALast Sunday the MX 2 youth was at the start on the clay track of Geldermalsen. It was the German Philipp Garcke who was the strongest. Garcke won both heats. Jenairo Beerens did well again in the battle for the championship. With two second places in the heats he became 2nd in the daily classification and thus strengthened his leading position. The Belgian Seppe De Rooze became third twice and also finished third in the daily classification. The top five was completed by Jeremy Bouchee and Lenn Enzerink.
On Saturday, the MX 2 youth will once again be behind the starting gate in Berghem, Brabant.
First heat
Garcke takes the lead ahead of Beerens, Bouchee, De Rooze and Joshua Steensels. Garcke immediately takes a lead. Behind him, Beerens, Bouchee, De Rooze, Enzerink and Yuca Zoons battle for the remaining top six positions. Steensels drops back to sixth place in the first lap and one lap later is already seventh behind. Zoons briefly comes through in fifth place, but he has to give up this place to Enzerink two laps later.
Halfway through the heat, De Rooze passes Bouchee. He then puts pressure on Beerens lap after lap. Beerens resists the pressure and finishes second behind Garcke. Bouchee follows six seconds behind him in fourth, with Enzerink on his wheel. Zoons follows 28 seconds behind Enzerink.
Second heat
Beerens is the fastest, followed by Bouchee, De Rooze, Garcke and Steensels. After the first lap, Garcke is already second and one lap later he takes the lead. De Rooze briefly rides in third place, but has to give that place up to Bouchee and loses ground. Elias Kaya briefly takes fifth place from Steensels, but it is ultimately Enzerink who comes through in fifth place after four laps.
Garcke rides away from the rest again and wins convincingly. Beerens keeps Bouchee on his wheel for a long time. Three laps before the end, De Rooze has closed the gap and passes Bouchee. Beerens resists the pressure again and finishes second again, ahead of De Rooze and Bouchee. Enzerink follows at a considerable distance.
