WWho is August Frisk? That was the question on everyone's lips when the Swede took the lead at the start of the EMX 250. And would he stay in the lead, because his main pursuer Janis Martins Reisulis would disappear from the race with bad luck. Frisk was ninth in the EC standings before the start in Frauenfeld, with a seventh place as his best result so far. In terms of leap forward a great move. With Nico Greutmann the Swiss public could also cheer for his second place.

August Frisk also started as leader with Reisulis, who had also dropped out last week but had still narrowly become EC leader, at his wheel. Janis Martins had taken the measure of local Nico Greutmann after a daring risk right after the start. A keeper on Saturday because he could have prepared himself thoroughly for his home match.

In his wake Simone Mancini and Francisco Garcia. Frisk was never worried. Greutman made zero mistakes and the top two were quickly established. Noel Zanocz was missing at the front. He saw the doomsday scenario of last week repeat itself. From outside the top twenty the Hungarian set himself to the task. Never forced but experienced some luck. Reisulis' engine started to smoke, to die dead a short while later.

Salvador Perez was already out at the start with a wrist injury. Bobby Bruce cannot yet cash in on his generous qualification and Liam Owens would fall. Garcia had his hands full with Mancini, and would only shake him off in two times. Zanocz never worried. He finished fifth behind Mancini ahead of Adria Monni and Jake Cannon. The points were enough to bring him level with Reisulis. And those two better watch out because Garcia is not far behind. Harry Seel, the only Belgian, finished 30th.
