DThe Swiss MX2 qualification went to World Championship leader Kay de Wolf. He was never threatened, but he also could not ride away from the opposition. A neutral observer would have considered Andrea Adamo as a possible equal afterwards. But the reality was different.
The dance was initiated by Valerio Lata for Cas Valk and/or Andrea Adamo. But shortly afterwards Kay de Wolf tore himself away from Simon Längenfelder and Liam Everts. After one lap de Wolf managed to get past Valk, but it took until lap four before he also drove Lata out of the lead. The Belgians, except for Everts, were not on the ball. Sacha Coenen only twentieth and Nicolas Vennekens in 26th. They never came into view with a 14th (Coenen) and a 22nd (Vennekens) place. For the latter a boost. Anyway, de Wolf as leader, while stablemate Everts set the fastest lap time. However, it did not yield him anything. Then the flames flared up when Adamo bounced against the rear wheel of Lata and fell over. That is how Längenfelder and Everts ended up in third and fourth place without a fight. Behind these four, there was a fierce battle, because Adamo wanted to reclaim his lost place. That was without counting on Simon and Liam, who passed Lata in the tenth lap. It was strange that Kay, as leader, did not ride further away. Or did the Wolf build in certainty? Everts was able to attack Längenfelder once. Then he had to hurry to stay out of the clutches of the onrushing Adamo. It was not over yet for Lata. Thibault Benistant also put in a strong end to the race and came fifth. Lata did stay out of the clutches of Camden Mc Lellan and Oliver Oriol.
