NAfter the 250SX finale it was time for the absolute highlight of the evening: the 450SX main race. During the sighting lap Justin Barcia and Cooper Webb already gave a foretaste of their intentions by blasting through the first whoops section at full speed.

At the start, however, it was Chase Sexton who took the lead. Behind him, chaos started early: Benny Bloss crashed in the whoops and dropped back to 22nd place. Teammate Mitchell Oldenburg also had a hard time, had to go to the pit lane with technical problems and only returned to the race in 21st place. A dramatic evening for the Beta factory team.

Up front, Cooper Webb wasted no time in moving up to second place, with Barcia close behind in P3. Although Webb stayed within seconds of Sexton at the start, the former champion opened up a massive 14,5 second gap midway through the race. Webb tried everything, even jumping over the tabletop every lap in an attempt to close the gap, but Sexton was driving at a murderous pace and seemed to only get faster with each lap.

Barcia meanwhile had a visit from Aaron Plessinger, but he was stuck behind his training partner for a long time. A crash by Grant Harlan in the whoops led to his retirement; he drove into the tunnel with his mechanic and was done for the evening.

Plessinger couldn't keep up the pressure on Barcia and even lost time when he failed to jump the finish line double. But then it happened: Barcia crashed heavily in the second whoops section. He had to go to the pits, clearly damaged, and his race was over. Plessinger took advantage and moved up to third place, which he would also hold until the finish.

Up front, however, it was one man's show: Chase Sexton took his second straight win – following his victory last week in Philadelphia – and took a big bite out of Webb's points lead, which is now down to nine points with three rounds to go. The title fight is wide open again!
