ALast Sunday the women's class (MON) started the battle for the 2025 in Cuijk. Britt van der Werff started the season excellently and achieved the full 120 points by winning both heats. The second place went to the young Marselina Mertens (3-3) on her 85cc machine (!). Defending champion Kaylee van Dam came in third (5-2).

The top 5 was completed by Suzy Tausch (4-4) and Jenitty van der Beek (6-5).

First heat

As usual, it was van der Werff who had the best start ahead of Maureen Zweers, van Dam, Tausch and Marselina Mertens (photo below). In the third round, van Dam lost a lot of time and fell back outside the top five. As a result, Tausch and Mertens moved up a place and Romy Metekohy was in fifth place. At the front, van der Werff and Zweers rode away from the rest. Behind them, Mertens managed to take third place and for a moment it looked like she could close the gap with van der Werff and Zweers.

In the end, Mertens also had to admit quite quickly that van der Werff and Zweers were just a bit too fast and her gap grew bigger and bigger. Van der Werff had her hands full with a strong Zweers, but managed to keep Zweers behind her to take the heat win. Mertens held on to third place and followed at more than 25 seconds. Tausch had had to give up fourth place to Metekohy during the heat, but things went wrong for Metekohy three laps before the finish flag fell. Tausch still finished fourth ahead of van Dam.

Second heat

It was van der Werff again with the best start. Now she was followed by Tausch and van Dam with Zweers and Tara Daneel behind her. In the second round it was Mertens who asserted herself again and took over fifth place from Daneel and van Dam passed Tausch. In the third round it went wrong for Zweers. She fell and left the race. Because of this it was Daneel again who ended up in fifth place.

Once again Daneel could not enjoy the top five place for long and it was van der Beek who passed her. At the front van der Werff had built up a gap of seven seconds. However van Dam did not give up and came within three seconds after which the gap increased slightly with each lap. Van der Werff won the heat again and van Dam followed nine seconds later. Tausch could not hold on to third place and was passed by Mertens. At a considerable distance behind him, fifth place was now for van der Beek
