IIn a candid interview with Omroep Brabant earlier this week, five-time world champion Jeffrey Herlings talks about his near future. In it, he indicates that he may miss more than one GP this year and that 2026 could be his last year as an active motocross rider.
This is what it said: The season has not even started yet and Jeffrey Herlings already knows that he can forget about the world title in the MXGP. The motocross rider from Oploo is still recovering from a knee injury and will therefore miss the first three races. Because his contract also expires this year, the question arises as to how long Herlings will continue. "I would like to go for the world title one more time in 2026, but if there is no new contract, this will be my last year," he says.
