ZWith specific preparation, the young motocross rider Vince van Hoof went to the 50th edition of the famous beach race in Le Touquet. With an unexpected fifth place in the 125cc it became a successful race for the Yamaha pilot. Read his race report below.

Preparation:

After a good winter, Vince went to the 50th edition of the beach race in Le Touquet last weekend without any specific preparation. Vince only received his starting number 2 weeks before the event.

Target:

Vince went to the biggest beach race in the world without any expectations or specific preparation. From his previous participation in 2023 (85cc) he knew that the start was very important. The goal was to give the best of himself and enjoy the 50th edition of the Enduropale.

Competition:

Starting in 115th place, Vince was allowed to leave for the starting line late and could eventually occupy a spot on the third starting row. Vince was immediately alert and turned onto the beach around twentieth place. He occupied the third place in the 125cc class.

The first hour Vince rode a steady pace and built his lead lap by lap on the 4th man in the race, the leader in the sand championship. After the pit stop Vince lost his focus and rhythm a bit with several crashes as a result. In the scratch classification, he dropped from 15th to 21st place. In the 125cc class Vince eventually finished 5th.

Vince van Hoof: "Le Touquet was a super fun experience. The atmosphere, the beach, the obstacles, the estimation of other riders, you don't experience that in any other race. I am very happy with the progress made. I didn't expect to fight for the podium. It gives me a lot of motivation and confidence to keep working hard for my goals. In 2025 I will complete an international program in the 125cc class. On February 23 I will be at the start in Lierop for the Dutch season opener."
