JVitalMX journalist Lewis Phillips has just reported that star pilots Jett and Hunter Lawrence have split with their manager Lucas Mirtl. In fact, Lucas Mirtl's employer Wasserman has also dumped him.

The Lawrence family spread this message about the case:
“Over the past two weeks, we have become suspicious of potential fraudulent activity involving one of our corporate accounts. After an initial investigation, we discovered evidence of misuse and embezzlement of our personal funds by our agent Lucas Mirtl, for his own benefit. As of 9:00 AM EST this morning, we have terminated him. In addition, Wasserman has also terminated him. We will continue our investigation and will report all findings to the appropriate authorities shortly. Wasserman will continue to represent us, with Jacob Hayes and Travis Clarke assuming management duties.”

Management agency Wasserman Sports, Music & Entertainment has also already responded with the following message: “Following an initial investigation, we became aware of evidence of misuse and embezzlement of client funds by Lucas Mirtl. As of January 23, Lucas is no longer employed by Wasserman while we continue our investigation. Hunter and Jett Lawrence have simultaneously terminated their relationship with Lucas in all capacities. Wasserman will continue to represent Hunter and Jett, with Jacob Hayes and Travis Clarke assuming management responsibilities.”

Besides the Lawrence family, Wasserman also represents Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda in the form of Lucas Mirtl. In Europe, the affairs of the Wasserman pilots are taken care of by Jeremy Debize, who has the brothers Coenen and Mathis Valin in his portfolio.

Troubles between a star athlete and his agent are nothing new. It reminds us a bit of the saga between Stefan Everts and Dave Grant.
