E-bikes and E-MX motorcycles are becoming increasingly popular. New developments in battery technology and engine performance provide a more intense and challenging riding experience. Anyone who has ever ridden an electric (motor)bike is very enthusiastic about the great experience. The BMB has been offering an E-bike competition since 2020 and this will be expanded even further in 2025!
The BMB, in collaboration with VMCF, is once again setting up a full-fledged Belgian Championship with 8 competitions at the moment and the possibility of further expansion. The number of categories is expanding from 3 to 5 so that all electric machines on 2 wheels are included.
The championship is organised within the framework of a number of VMCF motocross competitions, with the E-bike heats always taking place on Saturday.
New this year is the EX Open category for E-MX motorcycles (Stark Vark, Honda, KTM freeride, Yamaha, etc.). If there are enough registrations, a separate series will be provided for them. If at least three competitions with separate series take place, a Belgian title will be awarded. The EX Open class riders can also participate in the regular motocross competitions on Sunday.
Another change in the categories is the split of the EX1 category into the EX1-long and the EX1-short. In the EX1-long we find the Surron Ultra Bee models and in the EX-2-short the Surron Light Bee X. Of course, all brands are accepted if they meet the specifications below:
Just like last year you can participate in the competitions with any BMB sport annual permit (all disciplines) an E-bike annual or day permit or a motocross permit from the VMCF/VLM/MCLB federations. To score points for the BK you do need a BMB sport annual permit or VMCF MX annual permit.
