Oat the Malagrotta motocross circuit near Rome, the De Carli team celebrated yesterday its 30th year of presence in the Motocross World Championship. The event, with the team and the De Carli family, was attended by the president of the Italian Motorcycling Federation, lawyer Giovanni Copioli, Antonio Cairoli, Alessio Chiodi, and, connected by video, the Spaniard Jorge Prado. Also present were Claudio Federici, Eric Camerlengo, Luca Cherubini, Emiliano Caprioli and Matteo Bonini, who also played an important role in the team.
In a special zone, about ten young people gave an out-of-competition minicross demonstration, coordinated by the technicians of the Milani team, while on the permanent circuit Simon Längenfeder, third in the MX2 World Championship last year with the De Carli team, rode several passages. Next to the circuit was the structure used by the team in all MXGP races of the world championship.
In 30 years of history, Claudio De Carli's team has collected 13 world titles, 147 Grand Prix victories and 336 podium finishes, with riders Antonio Cairoli, Jorge Prado, Alessio Chiodi, Claudio Federici, Simon Längenfelder, Mattia Guadagnini, Max Nagl, Tanel Leok, Ken De Dycker, Eric Camerlengo and Glenn Coldenhoff. A success story that puts it at the top of motocross in the world.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation by multiple champion Antonio Cairoli of a special 'souvenir' to Claudio De Carli, to seal so many years of success: a shrine with two helmets, that of his first world championship won (2004) and the last (2017), and his signature on the sentence: 'a successful team beats with one heart'.
