Nu Mitch Evans has been out for a long time, Team HRC MXGP is looking for a replacement. The team, led by Giacomo Gariboldi, has approached Jordi Tixier, but the former world champion has declined. The Frenchman tells our colleagues at Gatedrop why he did not accept the offer.
“It's true, I received a proposal from HRC with an interview. Like many things in sports right now, it's a no-money deal. Of course, I'm not going to take that much risk without making any money. And I am not going to break all my contracts, I will remain loyal to the people who trust me and follow me in my own team. The factory team must understand that you cannot have a rider who can earn around 2 million euros a year and let a top ten rider who takes the same risk ride for free. In addition, when Evans comes back I will have to make room again.” Tixier told GateDrop.com.
