Clement Desalle won the Spanish Grand Prix in Talavera de la Reina under very warm conditions. The Rockstar Suzuki rider was the strongest in both series. But that was not all because for the second time this season the podium was completely Belgian, because after Clement Desalle we also got Kevin Strijbos and Jeremy Van Horebeek on the podium. So after Arco Di Trento there were three Belgian flags waving on the podium again.

Clement Desalle undisturbed to series victory!!!
It was Xavier Boog who took the holeshot ahead of Desalle, Bobryshev, van Horebeek and Frossard. We got Strijbos just ahead of Cairoli in seventh place and Roelants had started tenth. Clement Desalle soon took command of Boog, who also immediately took over Bobryshev and Van Horebeek. Antonio Cairoli rode in seventh place with Kevin Strijbos behind him. Just before halfway through the race, Bobryshev can no longer keep up with Desalle's pace and thus loses two places to Van Horebeek and Frossard. We get another duel for fourth place between Bobryshev, Cairoli and Strijbos. But Strijbos seems to be the strongest here and passes both Cairoli and Bobryshev for fourth place in the last two laps. Desalle was no longer threatened at the front and rode to victory in this first series ahead of Van Horebeek and Frossard. Strijbos finished fourth and Joel Roelants came in ninth. Ken De Dijcker took nineteenth place in this opening series. Jens Getteman did not start.

Clement Desalle restrains Cairoli!!!
It was Clement Desalle who took the holeshot ahead of teammate Strijbos and Frossard. Cairoli was in fourth place with Jeremy Van Horebeek nearby. It was soon clear that the top five were quickly pulling away from the rest. After about seven laps Cairoli took second place from Strijbos and started looking for leader Cairoli. Van Horebeek saw the danger and immediately passed the Frenchman Frossard for fourth place. At the front, Cairoli started to put some pressure on Desalle's position, but Strijbos also immediately took action. The world champion was therefore captured in the clutches of Rockstar Suzuki. Van Horebeek also tried to join the team, but was not immediately able to join the top three. Cairoli could not do more than threaten and so Desalle started to increase the difference in the last laps. Clement Desalle therefore remained standing and also won this second series ahead of Cairoli and Strijbos. Van Horebeek finished fourth and Joel Roelants fell just outside the top ten in eleventh place. Ken De Dijcker gave up after about five laps.
