Ryan Villopoto Vs Chad Reed, that seemed to be the duel in 2012. Until the Australian in the 7e round of the season went really fast. As if going all over the handlebars wasn't enough, his foot still got stuck on the footrest... enough to completely ruin Chad's knee. The 31-year-old veteran did not have a great season last year. But he still finished 5the in the final score. To the question of why put 'Reed versus Villopoto', I have one clear answer. He deserves it. Chad is one of four active riders with a 450cc supercross title and he still has it, otherwise you wouldn't be 5 after one of your worst seasons.e.

Chad Reed is also the first non-American in our short series of people we will be discussing for the supercross season. Unfortunately he is not European, yet we can safely claim him and say that he is half European. Finally, under the late Jan De Groot, he took a vice world title and won GPs in 2001, including Lierop. So let's suddenly call him a lowlander ;-).

Back serious now. Chad Reed has his own team, 'twotwo motorsports'. Previously it was with a red machine. This year Reed chooses to ride a Kawasaki. Back to green, back to the engine that launched his career. Hopefully he can end his career with this on a good note. But before we send Chad to retirement, let's see what strengths he needs to utilize in 2014 to be at the top at the end of the year.

Given his age and his professional career that has been going on for 14 years, it is logical that experience is his strongest point. Chad knows better than anyone that a season can be long and that not every weekend is a bed of roses. The Australian is the best at consolidating on his bad days. Then I immediately remember the race in Millville '11 in which, after a spectacular crash, he repeated the same series for 14e finished. Such experiences will undoubtedly help him in a championship where mistakes will be made!
