NIn just under a month the AMA supercross championship will start again, also an officially recognized FIM world championship. Even with the injuries of Trey Canard and Davi Millsaps the field seems deeper than it ever was. Besides the usual names in the 450cc class like Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, Justin Barcia and Ryan Dungey we will also see a motivated Chad Reeds at the start. Chad Reed recently confirmed that he will compete on a Kawasaki in 2014. In addition Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen have also made the step up to the big boys. And in the Monster Energy cup they already showed that they are ready to give Villopoto and co a hard time.
As if that wasn't enough, the circuits look really cool! In general, the circuits this year have a fairly wide first corner, which, unlike supercross, will no longer be used in the circuit. In Las Vegas they moved Monster Alley to the other side of the stadium. Hopefully no one accidentally turns left here. In Detroit they are participating in the Monster Energy Cup hype. They will make a loop over the stadium seats. What I am personally a big fan of is that the number of "walls" that riders have to go over and lose all their speed is kept to a minimum. However, we still have to look forward to the track design for Anaheim II on January 18 and Daytona.
