Hij may not have been there for the first two editions, but the hunger to win this year was greater than ever. James Stewart has had a few difficult years but now seems to be hitting back harder than ever. The overwhelming favorite Ryan Villopoto seemed to be on his way to victory again after winning the first final. However, he missed the Joker lane, which every driver had to take once in every race, in the second final and was so confused that he fell heavily. To date, nothing is known about his condition. In the final standings, Stewart won ahead of Dungey and a surprising Roczen.

The joker lane played an important role in the matches. Ryan Dungey lost his victory in the first final because he forgot to take it. He was moved back five places and immediately saw his chances of victory diminish. In a super exciting duel with Stewart, Villopoto forgot to take the joker lane in the second final and in the last final Dungey was able to cause a stir at the end by quickly taking the joker lane himself. Stewart and Roczen only did so on the last lap and Stewart was just able to stay ahead of Dungey. Roczen, who rode in Stewart's wheel, lost two more places.

The MEC's success formula appears to provide exciting competitions. Stewart takes home a $100.000 bonus and appears to have dealt a mental blow to the competition for Anaheim. However, it must also be said that Dungey, who could easily follow Villopoto in the first final, is ready for the new season. And with Roczen, Tomac and Barcia we could be looking forward to a super season.

In the Supermini class, Bas Vaessen finished eighth in the final standings with two ninth places.

Liam Everts ensured another Belgian success by finishing third in the KTM junior class. Liam already has two podium finishes in the states this season and is already doing better than his father at that age. Ask for more if you ask us!
