Wwhat initially did not work out for Glenn Coldenhoff, now seems to be going in the opposite direction at the end of the season. With a third and a fourth place, Glenn Coldenhoff won the first GP of his career today. Only a few weeks after the Dutchman achieved his first podium, he was now allowed to climb the highest step of the podium for the first time. Coldenhoff beat Jake Nicholls and Jose Butron after an exciting final phase in the second race. For Nicholls this was also the best performance of his career after he came third in Valkenswaard earlier this year.
In the first moto it was last week's winner Dean Ferris who led from start to finish. Ferris won the competition ahead of Nicholls and Coldenhoff. Kevin Fors finished eleventh in this first heat and achieved his best finish so far.
In the second moto Butron took the best start, but he soon had to let Charlier in front. Charlier immediately opened up a gap and easily won the match. Ferris fell behind him. He was unable to start again immediately and left the race. An exciting battle ensued between Butron, Febvre, Tixier, Coldenhoff and Nicholls for second place. Every place was important for victory and despite the tough course, everyone kept fighting until the end. An unsuspecting Coldenhoff even thought he had finished off the podium, but won the GP instead. Nicholls finished second in the final standings and Butron finished third on the podium.
