HIt was David Philippaerts who took the holeshot in this Qualifying Race for the MX1. Evgeny Bobryshev, who started second, went a bit wildly into the second corner and rammed into Philippaerts. The Italian was fortunately able to stay upright, but Bobryshev fell. Tommy Searle gratefully took advantage of this and took the lead. The Briton led ahead of Philippaerts, Boog, MacKenzie and Paulin. Antonio Cairoli also had some problems in the first laps and was only in nineteenth place. Clement Desalle was around tenth place, but crashed together with Jonathan Barragan on the third lap.
The Suzuki Rockstar rider fell to eighteenth place. In the fifth round we also lost second man David Philippaerts, who fell hard and disappeared from the race. At the front, Searle held the lead, but it was Gautier Paulin who had moved up to second place. Our compatriot Ken De Dijcker was in third place, but was already close to the leaders. Antonio Cairoli was already catching up and would eventually end up in seventh place, just behind his compatriot Davide Guarneri. At the front, Paulin had come up to Searle's wheel and with two laps to go he also took over the leading position from the Brit. The Frenchman Gautier Paulin won ahead of Tommy Searle and Ken De Dijcker.
We got our compatriots other than Jeremy Van Horebeek in ninth place, just ahead of Clement Desalle. We got Kevin Strijbos in thirteenth place and Joel Roelants ended up in nineteenth place.
