HThe Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team has decided to end its collaboration with Michael Leib with immediate effect.
In November 2012, Michael Leib was a guest rider for the team during a number of supercross races and did a number of tests on the team's bikes. He liked this so much that a plan was made to compete in the World Championship and ONK MX2 in 2013. After all, his contract with Kawasaki CLS had been terminated and he was looking for a new team. We wanted to help him, as he is a talented rider and was certainly an asset to the team.
During the winter period he rode a number of supercross races in America for his father's team and broke his arm. Michael then started driving too quickly again, causing his arm to be partially broken again, which meant that he had to miss the first few ONK competitions and the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard. There was weekly contact with Michael, but unfortunately his arm did not heal well.
At the end of May the moment came that Michael came to the Netherlands. Despite reports that he was training daily in America, he could not drive longer than 15 to 20 minutes here in the Netherlands. The team has approached a specialist in the Netherlands to investigate this.
However, cooperation with the team deteriorated due to the fact that Michael Leib started making increasingly unattainable demands. The team has met all his wishes and the contract agreements made. The team always does everything it can to please its riders so that they can perform well. His actions may have been intended to force a break so he could accept an offer from another team.
For the above reasons, the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team has had to decide to end its collaboration with Michael Leib with immediate effect.
We regret that we had to make this decision, especially for all loyal sponsors/business partners who have also waited a long time for Leib's arrival.
We have been active in motocross for more than 15 years and have never experienced anything like this. We will consider our future options.
