De Red Bull De Carli KTM Factory riders Ken De Dycker and Antonio Cairoli finished first and second in the second round of the Italian Championship in Malagrotta (Rome). Cairoli won the first round last weekend but had no answer to his Belgian teammate in the MX1 series! In the MX2 Christophe Charlier took the spoils ahead of the Dane Stefan Kjer Olsen and Giacomo Del Sagato.
In the MX1 round Cairoli led for a long time, but in the end Keeno came out on top on the De Carli home circuit. Cairoli came second ahead of Evgeny Bobryshev third, David Philippaerts, Steven Frossard, Shaun Simpson and Joël Roelants. Cairoli did win the superfinal ahead of Frossard, Bobryshev and De Dycker. Ken was second behind Cairoli for a long time, but had to settle for fourth place due to a mistake. Since the Superfinal does not count for the championship, De Dycker and Cairoli are now equal in the standings. The final of the Italian championship will be held in Arco Di Trento next week.
