VToday the famous Weston Beach race was held. With big names like Herlings, de Dycker and Simpson at the start of this 3-hour race, this was a top event. The victory went to (who else) Jeffrey Herlings. The 18-year-old MX2 world champion took part in a beach race for the first time and managed to win it straight away. Approximately 65.000 spectators witnessed a great race in which Herlings was able to beat Simpson and De Dycker.

Keeno took the lead early on, but went a little too wild in the tough dunes. Simpson took the lead after Ken fell but had to make an extra stop because he thought the radiator was breaking. Herlings was able to take the lead on his 350 with only 2 stops (Simpson 3 and Keeno 4) and take the victory.

Winner Herlings: 'I am very happy with this victory. I was surprised that it went so well. In the beginning I drove leisurely to save gas and energy and that turned out to pay off. I really enjoyed myself. The straight stretch in particular was formidable with the great speed you can achieve there. The hardest part was actually navigating between the amateurs. You can never get to full speed because of them and it is really slalom driving. Beforehand I was afraid it would be dangerous, but the organization and flagmen were very good. I'm really glad I came. It is something I really enjoy doing and would like to do in the future. I think every driver should have done this at least once in their career. I would also like to thank KTM for the super prepared engine!
