IIn the Italian Faenza Jeffrey Herlings and a surprising Seb Pourcel won the qualifying race. Herlings narrowly beat a strong Jeremy van Horebeek and Zach Osbourne. In the MX1 class it was not Christophe but Sebastien Pourcel who led from start to finish. Seb easily beat his brother Christophe and Shaun Simpson.
Herlings took the holeshot in the MX2 round and immediately tried to open a gap. Jeremy van Horebeek, who had the best time in prequalifying, did not let the Dutchman go and got into his teammate's wheel halfway through the race. Zach Osbourne followed Jerre's wheel well, but was never really able to threaten him. Ultimately, Herlings controlled the rest of the race and achieved his eighth pole position of the season. Damon Graulus finished 16th in his debut race and Kenny Vandueren will be 27th at the starting gate tomorrow.
In the MX1 race, Seb Pourcel surprisingly took the fastest start ahead of Shaun Simpson and Bobryshev. Desalle quickly came into fourth place and started the attack to close the gap with the first three. Christophe Pourcel, who always set the fastest time this morning, took a slower start but came forward like a steam train. The leading group regrouped and we got to see an exciting finish. Pourcel advanced to second place and turned it into a French brotherhood party. Ken de Dycker finished sixth and Kevin Strijbos crossed the finish line in 16th.
