HThe beautiful Orp-Le-Grand is not only centrally located in our country. Walloon Brabant is also the centre of motocross this weekend! Because, as usual, AMC Orp will be hosting the Belgian Motocross Championship on the banks of the Kleine Gete. The clear natural circuit is a true gem that reminds us of the 'good old days'. However, the club has also worked hard in recent years to ensure that the circuit continues to evolve. This year, new obstacles were integrated, and in order to prepare the surface as well as possible, extensive watering has been started. The spectacular track of the penultimate Radson Trophy competition naturally also requires a spectacular field of participants.
Keeno in title hunt!
BK leader Ken Dycker (Red Bull KTM) achieved a nice victory during the previous round on the Keiheuvel. Next weekend he can take another step closer to his first Belgian title. Keeno is currently 27 points ahead Tanel Leok (Rockstar Energy Suzuki). In theory, De Dycker could gain mathematical certainty about the title in Orp, but then Leok would have to lose many points. Given the current form of the Estonian Express, that seems unlikely. Leok offered the bear from Lubbeek strong resistance in Balen and won the third round. Moreover, Leok already won in Orp in 2007 and 2010. The regular David Guarneri (Silver Action-KTM) is third in the standings. Surprised by the outsiders Jurgen Van Nooten (KTM) friend and foe with a brilliant fourth place in BK Inters Open, known as one of the strongest national championships in Europe. Also former Belgian vice-champion Manuel Avg (Yamaha) is in good shape, the West Flemish ex-GP rider is in fifth place for Orp.
KTM factory rider Jeremy Van Horebeek lost valuable points on the Keiheuvel, but in the MX2 the Jerre already proved that he can also win on the Kleine Gete! By the way, KTM has even more irons in the fire Kevin Strijbos – who is having a strong season – will join the battle. The popular Russian Evgeny Bobryshev must uphold the colors of the Honda factory team and reigning Belgian champion Shaun Simpson (Monster Energy Dixon Yamaha) is again present. Local hero Yerki January can always be found at the front during the Belgian Nationals. We previously saw that the 20-year-old stylist can also hold his own among the top players of the Radson Trophy in Mons, where he finished seventh. Last but not least, AMC Orp can also present a real scoop!

Three to keep an eye on in Orp. From left to right: Kevin Strijbos, Evgeny Bobryshev and Tanel Leok.
Just over a year after his unfortunate fall during the Grand Prix in Lommel, which left him temporarily paralyzed, Steve Ramon (Suzuki) back at the start for the first time during a Belgian race. The two-time world champion does not just feel like a fish in water during previous ones racing outings In recent weeks (Red Bull Pro Nationals in Mill and Everts & Friends in the Netherlands), 'The Bomb' made an impression! This makes Ramon one of the absolute attractions of the 4th round of the Motocross Championships. On Saturday there will also be racing in Orp, when the Wallonia championship is on the program.
Monster Energy MX2 Trophy: Who will beat Getteman?
With a lead of 21 points Jens Getteman (Standing Construct Suzuki) is in a similar position to fellow leader Ken De Dycker. With a bit of luck, Getteman could win his first Belgian title this weekend. To achieve this, he will certainly first have to deal with the competition at home. Getteman's Danish teammate Nikolai Larsen After his victory at the Keiheuvel, he rose to second place in the Monster Energy MX2 Trophy. Until the Keiheuvel stood the Belgian champion Kevin Fors (Kemea-Reytec-Yamaha) second, unfortunately Kevin will not be there next weekend due to injuries. Fors continued to compete in Balen, but his broken sternum caused him too much pain. As a result, Fors' teammate Kenny Vanduren must keep the colors of Marnicq Bervoets' formation high.
The list of contenders for podium places is always large in this 'youth class'. Both Jeffrey Dewulf as Brent Vandoninck, Dietger Damiaens, Mark Boot as a veteran Tom De Belder have the qualities to claim a leading role. We can certainly be included in that last list Damon Graulus Don't forget (Standing Construct Suzuki). Graulus has already won a round in Mons and is heading to Walloon Brabant with confidence. The pool of Joel Smets (Motorsport Future) finished second last weekend during the European Championship MX2 in Matterly Basin, England.
