HThe beautiful circuit of Kegums was spared from the predicted rain today (except for a few showers). The winners in the qualifying series were no surprise. Jeremy van Horebeek took over the lead from Jeffrey Herlings when he had problems with his rear tire. It came off the rim and the foam fell out, so that Herlings had to abandon the battle. Van Horebeek was not allowed to let the pace drop because in his wake Joel Roelants came closer meter by meter. However, Van Horebeek controlled nicely and will be the first to the starting gate tomorrow. Tommy Searle came in third at a considerable distance.
