Jeffrey Herlings won the seventh GP of the season in Agueda. With a convincing series victory in the first heat and a second place in the final heat, Herlings had enough to win his fifth GP of the season. However, this did not happen without a fight, because especially in the second heat the ending was quite unusual. Searle won the second heat and came second in the final standings. Jeremy van Horebeek rode to third place despite the severe pain he still experienced in his foot from last week.

In the first moto, Herlings took the best start and was immediately joined by his teammate Jeremy van Horebeek. Both immediately created a gap and no one could threaten the KTM duo. Searle started around fifth place but once he got to third place he made a mistake and lost many seconds. Tixier finished fourth and Teillet fifth. Joel Roelants had finished in eleventh place after 1 lap, started a comeback but made another mistake a little later. He eventually finished ninth.

In the second moto the holeshot was again for Herlings. This time Searle immediately settled into his wheel and during the entire race he did not budge from the Dutchman. The two rode at a blistering pace and quickly started to catch up with the doubled riders. 2 laps before the end Searle increased the pressure and was helped by Mel Pocock. Pocock, Englishman and teammate of Arnaud Tonus, held Herlings up and Herlings eventually even had to let Searle pass. Searle thus won the match ahead of a seething Herlings.

Jeremy van Horebeek finished sixth after a difficult race. He suffered a lot from his ankle injury that he sustained last week in France. Jeremy started fourth but had to drop the pace. He eventually finished sixth. Joël Roelants crashed at the start and had to leave from the back. He came back strong but made another mistake. He eventually crossed the line in 17th place.

In the World Championship standings, Herlings is further ahead of Searle. Herlings now leads with 317p followed by Searle on 293p. Jeremy van Horebeek is third with 268p and Joel Roelants fourth with 204p.
