OUnder clear skies and summer temperatures, the first SX of the season was held yesterday evening. It was a matter of waiting to see how Villopoto would handle the pressure and hold off a super-motivated Stewart, Reed or Dungey. He succeeded with flying colours and won with a street lead over his main rivals, who actually never appeared in the piece.

Villopoto led from start to finish, ahead of Reed and Dungey at the finish. Reed, Dungey and Stewart battled for second place for a long time, but the Honda rider proved to be the strongest and came second. Dungey finished third and Justin Brayton crossed the line in fourth. Stewart lost control of his JGR Yamaha in the heat of the battle and only finished sixth.

In the Lites it was Rattray who started fastest, but he soon had to let Cole Seely go ahead. Seeley took off and won his second supercross of his career. Rattray finished second, Tomac third and Marvin Musquin finished fourth in his first SX race. Zach Osbourne was ninth and Max Anstie 16th.
