Tten years after the last Motocross GP, in 2002, the Motocross World Championship returns to Russia. The Russian Grand Prix MX1 and MX2 and a round of the European Championship MX2 will take place in Ivanovo on 21 and 22 July. The Russian Motorcycle Federation and its partners signed a long-term contract with Youthstream for this.
In addition to MX, competitions for the World Snowmobile Championship were also included in the agreement. According to the Russian press release, the race would take place in Russia from 2012 to 2015.
