Winner Ken Roczen, Red Bull-Teka-KTM (1-3)
“To be honest, I was very happy when the race was over because I was sick this weekend. But it was fantastic to win again in front of my home crowd and see all those people going crazy. I was able to control well in the first moto, I knew that Herlings was saving himself for the second moto, but I did that myself. Unfortunately I slipped on that long bend at the top. As a result, I fell far back, but I was able to come back well.”
Second, Gautier Paulin, Monster Energy-Yamaha (4-1)
“Finally I won my first heat! And I definitely didn't expect it here, because it was a difficult weekend and during the qualifying race I drove very nervously. The team has done a great job in the balance of the engine and suspension. I was able to take advantage of that on Sunday. In the first moto I made a big mistake when I hit the ground with my footpeg in a scrub. I almost fell over, but still managed to recover! I had a great start in the second moto and took the lead after Ken's mistake. This was my chance to win, so I pushed extra hard. We are second on the podium and the first three or four riders are very strong, but we keep working hard.”
Derde, Tommy Searle, Monster Energy-Pro Circuit-CLS- Kawasaki (3-2)
“It usually takes a while before I find my rhythm and that was also the case in the first race. Even though I quickly reached third place, by then Roczen and Herlings were far away. I was a bit disappointed with the second race, because my speed was good, but I lost a lot of time because Jeffrey Herlings made a mistake just in front of me. There was nothing I could do about it except wait, so I was only 17th. Still, I rode very well, it was my best race in a long time and I felt good on the bike. This track is not really my favorite, so I am very happy to be on the podium here.”
