MOurster Energy Yamaha riders Gautier Paulin and Christophe Charlier both rode strong GPs in Sweden, with Paulin on the podium and Charlier riding perhaps his best GP of the season in Uddevalla.
Gautier Paulin, third in the Swedish GP (2-3)
“Being back on the podium feels fantastic. And even though I actually want to be in the lead, I still have a lot of fun on the bike. The organizers had laid out a good circuit. And the way in which the marshals with blue flags warned the doubled riders ahead of us was also good. I started the first moto in second position and gave everything to hang on to Ken even though he was too strong for us today. In the second moto I thought I had a problem with my left footpeg, but it turned out to be my shift pedal that was a bit bent. Third overall is good for me, I'm working on getting a better result in the upcoming GPs. We have tested a lot recently and I have access to new parts for Teutschenthal. The team is working hard and we also want a few holeshots. The aim is to make progress to reach the top step of the podium!”
Christophe Charlier, fifth in the Swedish GP (7-7)
“To save my hand I had to be a bit careful. Currently my hand is only functioning at 80%, but there should be a lot of improvement next week. From then on I can train more again. I took no risks at all this weekend and those two seventh places in the heats and fifth overall are a good result.”
