Ryan Villopoto's goal was to win one more game this season, preferably for Las Vegas. The Kawasaki rider was able to achieve this by winning the penultimate race in Salt Lake City. Villopoto won in a straight duel against Chad Reed, who finished in 0,94 s. Ryan Dungey finished third and James Stewart couldn't get further than tenth after hitting the ground in Salt Lake City while in the lead.
Villopoto can now head to Las Vegas a little more confidently, he has a lead of 9 points over Reed and 12 over Dungey. But as this season already showed, anything can happen!

BIn the Lites we had the return of Ken Roczen in the West championship. The leader in the MX2 World Championship immediately picked up the thread again and finished nicely as second on the podium. The victory in the Lites was for Eli Tomac and the third podium place for the leader in the championship Broc Tickle. Third title candidate Josh Hansen is out of the title fight after a disappointing thirteenth place, he crashed when he tried to push Tomac aside. Tickle sees Tomac approaching the front to within 2 points, so it will be exciting next week in Las Vegas!!
