NAfter three days of hardcore enduro in a beautiful South African landscape, Chris Birch was able to show off the victory in the Roof of Africa. The New Zealander called this year's 'Roof' the toughest ever. More than 19 hours of riding in a temperature of more than 30°… not exactly a health walk!
Given these temperatures, warming up was not necessary, the organizers must have thought! At first glance, the participants were presented with a very long day (+9 hours) in the toughest terrain imaginable. Birch, who won the infamous Romaniacs earlier this year, made a mistake on the second day, but he fought back. Birch: “I am very happy with this victory… I am completely devastated, but I am so incredibly satisfied.”
