"Who laughs last laughs best." that was the motto of favorite Justin Barcia. Home rider Gautier Paulin won the Superpole and the Course Americaine, but in the final there was no success against Barcia.
The Geico-Honda rider took the holeshot ahead of Christophe Martin and Marvin Musquin while Paulin had to come back from fifth place. Musquin quickly passed Martin and Paulin was determined to get the most out of his inferior starting position. However, GP21 made a mistake when landing on the table jump and injured his right shoulder. A sour exit for Paulin who made a big impression earlier in the evening. The Monster Energy rider rode aggressively, fluidly and shot over the whoops like a TGV.
Musquin had started to ride better and better during the day, but was unable to make up a meter on Barcia who was now completely under steam. Gregory Aranda made a spectacular mistake on the rhythm section, and in addition to himself, Aranda also eliminated Langston. After a long duel with Tonus, De Dycker seemed to gain the upper hand, but one lap before the end Keeno in turn made a mistake. Chisholm rode a solid race and was rewarded with a third place. Soubeyras, who had previously won the SX Tour final, confirmed with an impressive fourth place. Hopefully more excitement in the final tomorrow!
