On October 21, the Council of State annulled the Provincial Spatial Implementation Plan (PRUP) for the motocross circuit 'De Kiezelgraven' in Neeroeteren. After deep deliberation, the Mc Maasland board has decided to do everything but stop the fight.
It has therefore been decided to continue the fight for the preservation of the pebble quarry despite the destruction of the PRUP by the Council of State last week. A deeper reading of the judgment and an extensive exploration of all possible options taught the club that there are certainly still options to turn the tide.
The coming period and the planned discussions with various authorities will make it clear which path to take now is the right one. In any case, it is clear that the word give up cannot yet be found in the dictionary of the motocross club. Motocross-loving Flanders is longing for useful solutions, so any form of defeatism is out of the question in this symbolic dossier.
