DThe expectations became reality on Saturday. As usual, it was a bit of a USA vs Europe race and that made things interesting. The USA ended the day as winners, but they didn't do so with dominance. Dungey couldn't catch up with a super Cairoli after a bad start, Canard had to deal with a very strong Roczen who made a mistake on the last lap. Andrew Short, on the other hand, led from start to finish, without too much opposition.

Belgium is in fourth place. Ramon rode his own race and took no risks. He finished neatly sixth. In the MX2 race, Van Horebeek rode a fantastic race. He started in fourth place, kept Musquin behind him for the entire race and overtook OSbourne in the closing stages. Clement Desalle had a good start but crashed in the second corner. After 1 lap he crossed the finish line in 10th place and started a nice catch-up race. Without taking too many risks he came back to fifth place.

So the USA can be the first to choose their place at the starting gates tomorrow. Germany follows in second place and Puerto Rico surprisingly follows in third place. Belgium comes in fourth, followed by France and Italy.
