RReigning Belgian MX2 champion Nick Triest crashed badly during practice on Saturday and injured his foot. He fought through the pain and finished 20th in the first manche on Sunday. In the second manche, the Shineray rider retired due to a defective rear brake. Examination on Monday revealed that Nick had broken his ankle on Saturday. The Belgian Championship manche next Sunday is still uncertain for the time being, but Nick will definitely be able to participate in the Coupe de l'avenir.
