Dhe surprising ONK victory of Gautier Paulin in Mill was anything but a fluke. The great Frenchman can now call himself a sand specialist. Paulin (1-3) was the most consistent of the day, which earned him his first GP victory of the season. Musquin was mathematically certain after the first series after the retirement of Ken Roczen, his only remaining challenger for the world title. However, the Frenchman (3-2) rode too tensely to compete for the final victory. In the absence of the injured Herlings, Dutch champion Roelants (2-4) became the best lowlander with a third place. Immediately the third podium of the season for JR. Coldenhof (11de) and Triest were able to significantly increase their points total. Roelants in particular is doing an excellent job in the World Cup standings. After the Benelux, the Grobbendon native jumps from 9 to 6. Moreover, 'JR' still has a prospect of fifth place because Osborne has barely 2 points left.
In terms of pure speed, Ken Roczen was the man of the weekend in MX2.
Marvin Musquin took the holeshot but Ken Roczen was determined to make good on his last chance at the title. Even before the end of the first lap, Roczen had already taken command. In the meantime, Paulin had also passed Musquin.
However, Roczen's title dream was brutally shattered when the chain of his Suzuki suddenly broke on the sixth lap. This is how Paulin got the win. An ill Jeremy Van Horebeek was busy catching up from 15th to 8th place until he crashed heavily. Simpson finished fourth despite his shoulder injury. Ken Roczen takes revenge
In the second MX2 round there was no stopping Roczen who quickly dealt with front starter Musquin. Roelants also started well this time, but had to admit his superiority in Paulin. The Yamaha-Rinaldi MX2 rider kept pushing and got into Musquin's wheel. Roelants finished fourth, while 18-year-old Kullas showed once again that he too can compete with the best in the sand.
