WThe thing the Americans certainly did not expect, but we did hope for, took place on Saturday in Unadilla. While everyone expected James Stewart to finally be able to threaten Dungey, it was a small Belgian who put Dungey under pressure. With two second places, Desalle already made a statement. Due to technical differences, it was not possible to use his own suspension and he had to work with a suspension that was unknown to him. However, he felt like a fish in water on the circuit and showed some nice things.

After a third qualifying time, Desalle made a good start in the first heat. Dungey immediately took the lead and took off to win the moto. Behind him, Desalle and Stewart fought a tough duel for second place. Bubba initially took second place but then made a mistake allowing Clement to finish second. Stewart came third and Andrew Short fourth.

In the second moto the holeshot was for Short, but soon it was the two Suzuki riders who battled for the win. Desalle and Dungey made it a beautiful show. Although Dungey was able to win the second moto, Desalle was the first to attack the SX champion so hard this year. Everyone was full of praise for the Panda afterwards. James Stewart gave up in the second moto and doesn't seem to be back to his old self yet. Brett Metcalfe finished third in the final standings.

The Lites won again for Trey Canard. Canard won the first heat after Pourcel crashed when he was in the lead and had to retire. In the second heat, Pourcel won from Canard after a super exciting duel. Justin Barcia was second in the final standings and Dean Wilson was third. Due to his DNF, Pourcel now sees his lead shrink to 16p with three games to go.

The next national will be held in Southwick in two weeks.
