IIn the highly regarded German Cross Country Championship (GCC), BMW factory rider Simo Kirssi rode to victory ahead of Dutchman Hans Vogels (Husaberg) and Finn Samuli Aro. With alternating grassland, single track in forests and a section on a motocross circuit, the riders were presented with a beautiful, varied course.

30-year-old Kirssi took the lead after the first lap and subsequently increased his lead. Thanks to that victory in Mernes, Kirssi consolidates his leading position. Because Vogels had to work in the Spanish GP, he missed one race. The Husaberg rider is now seventh. Joël Smets rode his Husqvarna to eighth place.

Hans Vogels' response: “Today I rode with the Husaberg 390 engine instead of the Husaberg 450, and I really liked it. The bike handled very well on the hard, steep parts of mountain p and the speed of the bike was also perfect. I also think back to this weekend with great pleasure. Driving went perfectly again, and I am still on the upward trend.”
