OAnother double series win for Ryan Dungey at the sixth round of the AMA Nationals in Red Bud, Michigan. However, Dungey also had a bit of luck on his side this time. In the first heat, Ben Townley seemed to be on his way to the series win until he jumped too far on a step-up in the last lap and crashed. Chad Reed was also held up in the process and Dungey was the laughing third. Reed finally rode a regular race again, because Skippy also finished second in the second heat. BT eventually finished fourth in the first heat behind Andrew Short.
Andrew Short took the holeshot again in heat two, just like in Thunder Valley last week. With Dungey, Townley, Reed, Metcalfe and Alessi behind Short, all the top guys were at the front. However, Dungey caught Short early and quickly built up a lead. Townley also quickly passed the Red Bull-Honda rider, but the former MX2 world champion could not catch up with Dungey and had to give up second place to Reed. After six laps (of 12), Dungey is already 64 points ahead of Red, who took second place from Brett Metcalfe. Troy Lee Designs-Lucas Oil-Honda rider Townley is now fourth.

Finally Trey Canard!
Trey Canard was definitely the most eager! His block pass - for the win in series two - to Wilson spoke volumes.
The talented Trey Canard still had some catching up to do outdoors. The GEICO-Powersports Honda pilot (4-1) immediately won his first series victory and the overall victory in Red Bud! Title favorite Pourcel traditionally won the first heat and led from start to finish after a holeshot. With Tyla Rattray and Dean Wilson second and third, it became a full Pro Circuit-Kawasaki podium. Westcoast SX champion Jake Weimer was again not on his side. Weimer had a good start, but fell in the battle for third place with Broc Tickle. He only finished 11th.
In the first heat Canard had to come back from 10th place, but this time he started in fourth. The holeshot went to Canadian Scot Dean Wilson. Wilson was able to open a gap, but a motivated Canard first successfully competed with Justin Barcia and then with Rattray. The way was now open for Canard to close the gap with Wilson. In the 11th lap Canard passes Wilson. Christophe Pourcel was away in seventh but he did not play a significant role in heat two. At the end Rattray crashes and loses his third place. Canard wins ahead of Wilson, Barcia and Wharton.
Pourcel is still comfortably in the lead with 43 points ahead of Wilson. Rattray is third, Canard follows closely in fourth and Tickle is fifth.
